A poem about temporary friends. Please read the hyphens as spaces there is no other way I've found to create different spacing for a poem.

Friends we make,

---And friends depart,

Like waves across

---This good ship's bow.

And though we hold

---Them dear to heart,

Memories too

---Must pass the prow

-

I ask you now –

---Will tides cease?

Can I encase

---My world in glass?

Will moon pause?

---Time's flow decrease?

Will our friendship,

As well soon pass?
