Domino Effect

Hazy city streets entice his curiosity

Speedy cars, barking dogs, and familiar voices ring in his ears

Roaming its avenues he stops after 10:30

He stares at the watch and ignore his peers

Should he turn around now?

Go home and wallow in new bruises

Back to holding his tears and yelling “You no good cow!”

Put up with routine abuses

He looks up with a scoff and takes the blunt

Puffs then passed it on “Rather deal with that later.”

Swirling smoke filled the air “Can’t wait until I leave with my aunt.”

A familiar boy walks by with a sneer “Hey let’s jump that hater.”
