: Blue :

I ran into blue today
And asked how he came to be
He said he was the lovechild
Of the sky and the sea

I asked blue
What was his favorite hue
He said it was me
I said What do you mean
He said

You're the kind of blue that people
Sit and contemplate
Which to me is the shade of the sky
No, no, he laughed
He laughs kinda like a song
You're the blue that can't be seen with the eye

Even with that citrus smile
And that sunset-tinged glow
You're cheeks bright like winter berries
Sleeping in the snow
You know, oh you know
That blue still lingers
On your eyelashes
In the tips of your fingers

Mm, shade of the sky
How'd you get so smart?
He smiled kinda shy
He's the shade of the heart
He's the truest true

You can't feel no deeper than blue
