:: Momma, the Storm Woke Me ::

I'm watching lightning
Scrawl out a story
On the body of night, layed bare
The thunder is somewhere
Inside of me
In some invisible core
From my throat and from the sky
It's more a sigh than a roar
The raindrops and their sound
As they filter through tall grass
And yellowed leaves
Envelop me, and all around
I hear them whisper
Oh sleep, Oh sleep
Their sweetness fills my tongue
Again with riddles and words
And all these things I've heard
Are suddenly so new
