Tsubasa Academy is the prestigious and well-known boarding school in Japan which is exclusively for girls. It is hidden behind thick forests far from the busy city of Tokyo. It has been around since the 18th centuries, and its exquisite exterior and fine architecture showed it well. The school also has a collection of numerous ghost stories that came from former and current students. But despite this, many parents still encourage their daughters to finish take their education (middle and high school) in this famous school.
“The seniors were talking about seeing a ghost last week at the old building’s bathroom,” one of a student said.
“They say that it’s the playground which is haunted,” another said.
“Hey, all of you are the new students, right?” an older student asked as she entered the room.
“Yes we are.”
“Hey, you’re the one who told us about that story.” one of them exclaimed.
“I’m Sora, one of the seniors here in this school. And I’m the one asked to do your initiation,” Sora, a dark haired senior, said. “Your initiation is sort of like a test, to see how brave new students are.”
There were a couple of shrieks and screams from the new students when Sora left. Well, except for one girl who just stared out of the window.
These girls are so weird, Minami Suzuka thought. And this school too. Why did I bother to come here in the first place anyway? Why can’t I just stay in a normal high school like a normal girl?
But Suzuka was far from being a “normal” girl. Her black hair was always disheveled, and her pale skin was due to the fact that she never went out of her room.
“The anti-social butterfly,” her mother ironically comments all the time.
She hated meeting other people, and being with them too. She never had any friends and never dated a boy in her whole sixteen years. Suzuka was only forced by her parents to enter the boarding school to “renew her friendship bonds with other girls.”
“Hey, I’m Maya,” a cheery blond approached Suzuka, but she only gave her a death glare.
More screams were heard from the room of the new students. They thought that Suzuka was a ghost who suddenly appeared from the corner.
“I’m Suzuka,” she barely whispered.
“You look like a girl from a bad horror film, you know,” one of the girls exclaimed which made everyone laughed.
So much for renewing stupid bonds with the stupid girls in this stupid school, Suzuka thought and slumped down on her seat.

It was already near midnight when Sora appeared at the dormitory of the new students. She was instructed very well by her fellow seniors to lead the new students towards the garden, which was off limits during the night. In the garden, the other seniors prepared tricks and traps to scare the new students. This was part of the yearly initiation of the new students. Of course, this was always unknown to the faculty of the school.
“Hey, are you guys all ready for tonight?” Sora asked.
“Sora-sempai, we’re finished with the unpacking, and we’re dressed,” a girl named Hitomi said.
“Okay, so how many are you?”
“Only eleven.”
“Huh? I thought you were twelve when I counted a while ago,” Sora asked.
“Well we couldn’t find Suzuka anywhere. She left but nobody noticed her. We don’t even know where she went,” Maya explained.
“Oh no, well let’s get going anyway. We can’t wait for her. The others are waiting,” Sora sighed.
“Others?” Maya mouthed to the other girls behind her.

Suzuka was wandering around the dark and eerie campus of her new school, and as much as she doesn’t want to admit it, she was lost. She kept going on random directions until she didn’t know where she was.
Well, I know that I’m lost, but this is better than that lame initiation, she thought.
After a few more walking, she saw that she was inside the old building that was off-limits to the students at night. As she passed by one room, she heard a movement inside.
What was that, she nervously thought. Are those ghost stories true?
Suzuka opened the door and she was shocked to see what was inside. She saw a guy who was about the same age as her. He was wearing white clothes in the same shade as his white hair. And he was floating while playing the piano.
“G-ghost!!” Suzuka shouted, and the ghost looked at her.
Suzuka and the ghost had the same surprised expression, eyes widened and the color in their face drained. The ghost didn’t budge for a while until he ran and jumped out of the window but did not break the glass.
Meanwhile, Suzuka ran all the way that she could. She was not looking where she was going and she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She finally reached the dormitory where the other girls had finished their initiation.
“Suzuka, what’s wrong? We’ve been looking for you, you missed the initiation,” one of the girls said.
“It was really fun. We thought the ghosts a while ago were real, it was just a set-up by the seniors,” Maya said with a smile but she stopped when she saw Suzuka’s frightened expression.
“Is anything wrong, Suzuka?”
“I saw a ghost. I was wandering around the old building, and inside a room I saw a ghost,” Suzuka exclaimed.
“A ghost? You saw one? Of course not, maybe that’s just your imagination, or one of their props that got lost.”
Suzuka knew that there was no point in arguing to these girls. She knew that they will never believe in her. She just shrugged at them and went to bed as she tried to forget those incidents that happened.
I still have a long day tomorrow, she thought.

Just below the music room’s window, Shiiru Koji was hiding. His white hair was giving the impression that it was glowing in the dark night lit only by the moonlight. He wasn’t a ghost or an evil spirit, he was an unknown being that was called demi-human. He came from the star Arcadia, the Star of Possibilities. He often visited Earth to have fun, and this school was his favorite place.
Demi-humans have limitless power that was given to them by the Arcadians, the original residents of Arcadia. Arcadians were faeries and elves that protect Arcadia’s nature. Demi-humans and Arcadians weren’t visible to human beings
That girl could see me, Koji thought. But how?
Koji peered at the window to see whether the girl was still there or not. As far as he knew, humans could not see them. They could only feel their presence. After he saw the room which was empty, he decided to just return to Arcadia.
Enough fooling around, he thought. This is enough for one day.
