I see you every morning
As you wake from a dream
You always seem to forget what it was
Then shrugging it off, you start your day

Even if it was my only way of talking to you.

Sometimes you take your breakfast
And sometimes you don’t
Either you’re in a hurry
Or maybe because you just don’t feel like it

Even if it was me who prepared it for you.

You hang out with your buddies
I just stay a distance from you
Assuring your safety and happiness
You don’t seem to notice

Even if I was always just there.

In the cold of the night
I become your blanket to sheath you
In the wetness of the rain
I become your cloak to wrap around you

Even if I don’t hear any ‘thank you.’

But still, I will always be here
To watch you as you wake up
To cook you your breakfast
And to keep you safe and happy

Why? Simply because I love you and I choose to become a part of you..
