Empathy

I foolishly tell them my

problems.

I unfold my fragile heart

Hand it to them

And let it unravel my

deepest secrets.

-

They crush it carelessly

and wave it off with

a smirkful of laughter.

They say it is alright.

It's fine, put it away.

Forget it, relax.

You'll be fine.

-

But, it's not okay.

I won't be fine.

Don't you see?

I'm dying inside!

Screaming and yelling,

Clawing to escape.

Why won't you help me?

Why don't you care?

-

Please.

Put yourself in my shoes.

Feel what I feel.

See the darkness that

Is a constant roadblock in my life.

Let the pain seep into your body.

How does it feel?

Show some empathy.

Or is that too old fashion to use?
