Summer
Like a young teenager,
Whose life is anticipated greatly, and looked forward to with great expectations.
Many trips and detours are enjoyed, the majority learned from.
There is time enough for everything, and not enough time for much of anything.
The days are long and stretch endlessly into the horizon, where it appears that the Sun alone holds everything together. Then, when the breeze of recollection blows, everything and everyday seems meshed and molded into one long, unending day of happiness. And at the end you remember the sunset and the stars.
The sun and its long stretching rays of purple, blue, and pink evoke passion and longing, and the realization that there are bigger things out there, just waiting.
The night cools and the crickets and lightning bugs perform their symphony to the night.
The stars twinkle their heavenly greeting.
Your eyes close,
And all is still while you sleep.
A breeze gently caresses the tall grass in the fields…
A new season has come.
A.N.: My favorite part about this one was “everything and everyday seems meshed and molded into one long, unending day of happiness” and “there is time enough for everything, and not enough time for much of anything”. Those two phrases almost perfectly describe summer for me.
