Another Family

Summary: Yoshiko has always been a quiet and shy child with a simple life. But when her parents summons a divorce, Yoshiko’s life changes dramatically. Will Yoshiko be able to deal with the pain or will she go to the extreme to get her parents back together?

Yoshiko, an out-going, smart, yet shy king of girl had a simple life. She lived with her brother Yuuki. She loved and appreciated being with her family. The only problem in this happy home was that her parents argued and fought constantly with each other.

The arguments that Yoshiko had to see and hear was so violent that her parents’ actions towards each other scared her and at some point they would call the police on one another over the stupidest of things to argue about. The arguing was so frequent, that it seemed to Yoshiko that all they did was argue.

One day while Yoshiko was at school, the girl had a bad feeling. A feeling that something horrible was going to happen when she got home…and it did. After dinner, Yoshiko’s mother and father hosts a family meeting in the living room. With Yuuki by her side, Yoshiko listened to the painful words that came out of her parents’ mouths. The words were so horrible that it came to the point where Yoshiko was in tears and Yuuki was shaking. The final decision was made…Yoshiko’s parents summoned a divorce.

A few years went by and the pain that was stinging Yoshiko’s heart turned into anger that she could not control. Yuuki’s grades in school started to slip and also in his heart was anger. The thing that was really annoying about the divorce, was the back-and-forth situation, where the time to see the parents was split every week. It lead to the point where Yoshiko and Yuuki only got to see their mother only two out of seven days in a week.

One day while Yoshiko and Yuuki were at their dad’s house during the school week, Their father sat them both down at the table as soon as they walked through the door. Both Yoshiko and Yuuki exchanged confused looks at each other. As soon as they looked at him, their father said the most depressing words anyone could ever say to their kids: “I have gotten another woman pregnant. So, from this point on, you will be having another family.”

Yoshiko’s heart sank to what seemed like an endless, dark void of misery. She already could not deal with the divorce and just when she started to get a little comfortable with the situation, something more dramatic pops up. Yoshiko was speechless. She did not know what to say. She just looked at her father is disgust and moved on with her life.

First the divorce, now another family? What else could go wrong? Her father and his girlfriend getting married? Ugh. Yoshiko could not even think about that at the moment. But it did happen. Her father and his girlfriend did get married a couple years after. Now, Yoshiko has a broken home and a step family to deal with.
