Chapter One

Aroma...the very mention of the word makes us think of flowers, the way their sweet scent wafts through the air...but not for me. For me it was something more. A name.

"That cats on drugs!"

"No he's not! Aren't you baby?"

The cat strutted past, his tail stuck up in the air. He ignored the "here Kitty kitty!!" from the girl, and the "c'mere!" from the boy, and strutted on down the hallway and into the family room. The girl looked at the boy. He had darkish blonde hair, with small bits of brown in it. He looked back at her with his dark green eyes. Her red hair shone in the dim light of the table lamp while her identical green eyes looked towards the door. Her long legs were crossed neatly beneath her chair as they waited patiently for the oak door to open. Her name was Allie Correll and she was the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Australia. His name was Jaimie Orune and he was the son of one of the most well known and wealthiest machine specialists in the country. When the door finally opened, Allie's back stiffened in silent recognition of the man who walked in. The woman that preceded him made her eyes go cold. The boy glanced at her and took her hand.

"Your father and i have made our decision, Allie. We have spoken with Jaimie's parents and we have always been able to compromise, but this time we had no choice but to accept their terms."

"You will be leaving on the next plane to New York. From there you will be flown to Domino, Japan, where you will be escorted to our other house on the outskirts of the city. And you will go without complaint." That said, they left and the large door closed almost silently behind them. Allie looked at Jaimie.

"What are we going to do?"

"We could elope." she said with a small smile

"That would never work...they would find us, wherever we went."

"I know..." the girl sighed and leaned against him. Jaimie kissed the top of Allie's head and leaned back on her.

"Kara! You need to get down here now!!"

"Coming!" Kara sat in front of her mirror applying her make-up and fixing her burgundy hair into a chignon at the nape of her neck. She sighed at herself at did a double take of herself in the mirror. She hated the way she looked. She had two older sister's, both gorgeous. However, people would come to their sea-side masion just to catch a glimpse of her! She was said to be a goddess reincarnated. It was disgusting. To Kara, being displayed and worshipped was not her idea of a happy life. Her parents, however, had other ideas...

Kara stood and walked to her door. It was gonna be a long day...
