I just wanted to make a Halloween story for today, so i did. Hope you like it!
BWUAHAHAHAHAH!!! lol. Happy Halloween!
“Eve,” she would say, “As soon as you were in your mothers arms the lights flickered and went out.”
“Nuh-uh.” I would say, provoking her to tell me more.
“Yep, and when your mother gave you to your father, I felt a chill in the air, and when I got hold of you, you cute little thing,” she would pinch my cheeks at this time, “You gave me this smile with a mischievous look in your eyes and I knew, I knew right then, that I was holding the most special child ever, in my arms.”
Nowadays when my birthday comes around, all I hear is “Eve, don’t go out and do anything stupid.” or, “Eve, don’t drink and drive” mind you, I’m not old enough to drive alone anyways, I also hear, “Eve, don’t do drugs,” “Eve don’t have sex with your boyfriend.” “Eve, always do the smart thing, not what others are doing.” “Eve!” “Eve!” “Eve!” It was driving me mad.
Over the years my aunt grew more anxious as my birthday came around. Almost as if she expected some freak accident to happen to me or some crazy thing like that. Last year she wouldn’t even let me out of the house. I escaped anyways, and got back in before she even noticed. This year, she was taking more precautions than ever.
“Now, with this alarm system nothing can get in, or out, right?” she questioned the cute guy installing the alarm, her puritan blue eyes searching him for some slight flaw, her perfect blonde bob flawlessly glued to her head. Her anxiousness almost radiated off of her, it was strange.
“Yes ma’am. No human thing can get in or out, unless they know the code, or can trick the alarm.” he responded, his eyes flirtatiously straying towards me.
I was leaning against the doorframe of her English Manor home. Crisp white paint covered the foyer walls. In the room to the left, the family room, the walls were covered in a ‘cool green’ color. More simply put, it was mint green. In the room to the right, the walls were covered in a crème color. Basically the house looked like a giant Andes mint. The only room that was a dark color was mine. It was black. Just the way I like it, dark and mysterious, wicked and sweet, all at once. I looked up from underneath my ebony bangs and caught the alarm guy staring at me. He could only be a few years older than me. I mischievously smirked at him.
“Well,” my aunt interrupted, “That’s enough. I’m not paying you to look at my daughter like a hunk of meat.” she indignantly remarked.
He arched his eyebrows, and looked from me to my aunt and back. It was painfully obvious to him, and every other person in our neighborhood, that we were not mother and daughter.
“Right. Sorry. I’ll just get my coat and leave. The system is all set up.” He replied.
“Wait, what did you mean by ‘nothing can get in or out unless they know how to trick the alarm’? How can you trick the alarm?” She demanded.
“Oh, did I say trick?” he asked himself, “I meant that if they make any attempt to get into the house, or out,” he quickly eyed me out of the corner of his eyes, “they’ll trip the alarm.”
“Oh. Thank you for your service.” She replied.
“I’ll just go wash up, if that’s alright.” he asked.
“Yes, fine.” she answered, and walked towards the kitchen.
“I’ll get your coat from the coat closet.” I suggested, making my way to the foyer.
When I reached the closet I moved to the table next to it and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote my cell phone number on it, and also wrote a short note.
Call me. It gets boring with the old hag around.
Eve
Hell, there’s no sense in living life without a little fun. I opened the closet and grabbed the guy’s big, brown, scorched-looking leather jacket and put the paper in the left pocket.
“What do you think you’re doing?” My aunt shrieked from behind me.
I jumped, “Oh, nothing. I just found a paper in his jacket.” I stuttered, “I was just being nosy.”
She eyed me suspiciously and walked towards me, her proper-looking black pumps clicking across the wooden floor, “Oh really? Then why do you look like you’re lying to me, Eve Samhain?” she enquired, reaching for the pocket of his jacket.
“Oh, there you are.” the alarm guy said, startling us both, my aunt spun around on her heel so quickly, I almost didn’t see her turn, “I got lost for a minute there.”
Realization struck me, he was stalling. I immediately snatched the paper out of his pocket and tucked it into my own. My aunt turned back around, slowly this time and glared at me.
“We’ll finish this later, Eve. For now, go up to your room, I want a word with mister,” she turned and inspected his embroidered name tag, “Joshua McCain.”
I turned and made my way up the staircase, pausing every so often to see if I could her anything. When I reached the top of the stairs I hear her voice wafting upwards.
“Now go to your room Eve.” Her voice sounded ghostly from the top of the stairs.
As I entered my room I heard the mumbles of my aunt speaking to Joshua McCain. He could only be about 20 something. I would be eighteen at 6:13 this evening, while my aunt was at church. I hated church; I don’t know how she could stand going every night after night. I swore to myself that I would never enter a church after my first time in one. The first time I was ever in a church, it burned to the ground, with me inside. My aunt and I just barely escaped, luckily, neither of us was physically harmed, but from then on, I refused to set foot in a church. I walked to my bed and flopped down. I turned my head to look at my digital clock, its numbers glowed an angry red. I stared at them until they changed. It was now 5:45 in the evening; my aunt would be running around like a chicken with its head cut off soon if she didn’t get out the door for church. I smirked at the thought.
“Eve!” I heard her call.
I sighed, and got up from my bed and walked to the door, opened it, and walked down the crème colored carpet covered stairs.
“Yeah?” I responded.
“I’ll be off to church in a bit. Set the alarm when I leave.” She told me.
“Whatever.” I sighed.
She turned to Joshua, “It was a pleasure. But your incompetence will be noted. I’ll be calling your boss to tell him tomorrow.”
“But my boss is a woman….well, my boss will be a woman by the end of tonight.” he gave her a wicked grin.
I thought this odd, but in this day and age, I suspected this meant that his boss was undergoing a sex change. I mentally cringed.
He reached out his hand, and shook my aunt’s hand. Then, he reached for my hand, I quickly pretended to look away and sneeze into the air, while I fetched the paper from my pocket. Then I grabbed his hand and secretly placed the paper in his hand. He shook it, while taking the paper, and then tipped his hat at us.
“Good day ladies.” He politely said, and then walked off towards his truck.
My aunt turned to me, “The code to set the alarm is 10-31-07. There is a different code to turn it off, but you don’t need to know that one.”
“Yes, warden.” I retorted.
She rolled her eyes at me, “I only want to keep you safe. You never know what could happen these days,” then she added silently, “Especially today.”
She looked at me, taking in all of me. My straight ebony hair, my dark eyes, my 5’8 stature, she looked at me as if it might be the last.
She looked away, “Alright, I’m off. I’ll see you soon, dear. I hope you’ll make the right decisions.” she said and kissed me on the forehead.
“Bye. Love you.” I said as I closed the door and pretended to set the alarm.
Almost 45 minutes later, I had a call from Joshua, “Hey, wanna get in some trouble?”
“Hell yeah.” I replied.
“Don’t take Hell’s name in vain.” he said, and then laughed, “I’ll pick you up in a few, how about in 15? Is that good?”
“Sure, I’ll be legal then.” I responded.
“That sounds hot coming from you.” he laughed, “You’re a badass aren’t you?”
“Sweetheart, that’s my middle name.” I replied.
“Great, my friends’ll love you then.” He said.
“We going to a party?” I asked, looking into my closet.
“You could say that.” He replied.
“Then I’ll have to slip into something more comfortable.” I said, seduction in my voice.
“Cool. See you in a few.”

I looked into my closet. There were pinks and blues and greens and all kinds of disgusting colors, all from my aunt’s recent shopping trip. She was trying to persuade me to ‘put some color into my wardrobe’. I pressed a button and all the disgusting clothes slid away, and a new set of clothes appeared. There were black tee’s long sleeved black shirts, black pants, black hoodies, black arm warmers, black fishnet hose, and black mini skirts. I pulled out my black fishnet arm warmers, and black fishnet hose and a black mini and a black tee and pulled them on. Then I went to my desk and grabbed a hot pink bow and clipped it into my hair. I then grabbed my black bracelets and slid them onto my wrists. Then I looked under my bed for my black and white converses.
After I found them and slid them on, I heard a honk out front. I looked out my window on the second floor and saw Josh, in a red pickup. I waved to him and then bounded down the stairs. I opened the door and promptly closed it behind me; I would sneak in through the doggie door in the backyard when we returned. It felt like an uncontrollable force was gently luring me into going out with Josh, and who the hell was I to resist an urge to go out with a hot guy?
“Well, well, well. Eve Samhain, daughter of Damien and Lindsay Samhain. You were born on October 31st, 1989 and you’ve never seen your parents since. You’re also in custody of Christa Sant, you’re mother’s sister, how ironic.” he shook his head in wonder, “I’m not scaring you am I? I googled you, just to make sure I wasn’t going out with some freak.” he smiled.
“I like scary.” I responded.
Ever since I could remember, I had always been attracted to the dark and mysterious side of things. I was an avid participant in the local group of wiccans, despite my aunt’s warning against ‘witchcraft’ and the like. The more she refused to allow it, the more I participated. I was always listening to heavy metal and all sorts of ‘devil music’ as my aunt, the devout Christian, called it.
“I’m taking you to see an old friend. You two might know each other.” he told me.
“You looked up who I used to hang out with? That’s a little weird.” I stated.
After about an hour in the truck, we reached a big stadium. Outside there were tons of people. When some passed by my side of the truck, I noticed that they were wearing Metallica t-shirts.
“You’re taking me to a Metallica concert?!” I squealed in amazement.
He smiled at me, “Yes, I am.”
I ran over to him and hugged him, “You are amazing, and I don’t even know you!” I smiled.
He smiled back at me and put a pass around my neck. I took it in my hands and stared at it.
“You got backstage passes?! What’d you do, make a deal with the devil?” I questioned, still astonished.
“Something like that.” he replied.
We walked into the arena and Josh showed our passes to a big buff black guy, and we walked past the red velvet ropes. As we were walking I noticed that the noises of the crowd behind us dwindled to nothing. I also noticed that it got hotter, and seemed more cave-like as we progressed forward.
“Did you know that your father was the devil?” He asked me.
“What?” I snapped, “Josh, what are you smoking?”
He laughed and we continued forward.
“Wow, they go all out on the decorations, huh? It even feels like we’re walking right into hell.” I laughed.
“We are.” he said, turning his head towards me, his eyes all of the sudden were fire-red.
I shrieked, excited and frightened all at once.
“I thought you liked scary Eve Samhain.” He said, a devilish voice replacing his normal one.
“Not this scary!” I yelled.
He gripped my forearms and forced me to walk forward. I thrashed around and made as much of a fuss as I could, when all of the sudden, he lifted me off the ground as if I were a feather, and carried me over his shoulder, army-style.
“And did you know that on your 18th birthday that if you return to Hell, you become the new leader for all the demons to follow, you become the head demon.” he said, the demonic voice still replacing his own.
I continued thrashing, by the time Joshua stopped, he had bloody gashes in his back because I sank my teeth into his back, trying to make him let go of me so I could escape his grasp. The taste of blood was in my mouth, and it made me want to throw up. As soon as he put me down, I wretched all over his front.
“That’ll teach you.” I spat, and then made a run for it.
He quickly cut me off, “You have a visitor, Eve.” he said, and lifted his arm, pointing his finger behind me.
I slowly turned, scared out of my wits. When I looked, I saw a man who looked shockingly like me. He had jet black hair, and dark eyes, but his skin was black, the actual color black, he could almost blend in with a black wall if he tried.
“Hello, Eve. Happy to come home?” he asked sadistlically, “Happy to be back in Hell with daddy dearest?”
