Congratulations by Ryan Schiff

You made it.
It wasn’t easy
(probably harder than you think)
But don’t give too much credit
To Anyone, who made it as far as you.
Lots of people have done it
And will do it.

So please:
For a few lines
Stop being intellectuals
Stop being individuals
Stop being conformists
Stop being conservative
Stop being free thinkers
Stop being free people

Don’t think about life
Don’t think about god
Don’t think about death
Don’t think about logic
Don’t be a scientist
Don’t be a philosopher
Don’t be a person
Don’t be a proven steadfast point

You have no place here.

It is just us:
You
Me
And some words
And some sounds
And I am Immaterial,
As are the words.
And sadly, you are not.

Envy them
Don’t think about envy
Don’t be a person of envy.
Don’t be a person.

If you can read this, that’s good.
It must be working.

Don’t forget words
They are your only light
But use them wisely
Because they are fickle
Because they are free.
Freer than the speaker
And more fickle
And more so.

If words were harder to use
It would be easier to be quiet
And people would spend more time speaking in their minds.

People would spend time speaking their minds.
