Afterevent
Luna stared out the window. The rocking chair creaked as she moved, waiting for her to move out of and take a step in the world.
She readjusted her back pillow, her long grey hair fell over the one side, she had been too tired to pin it up again.
There was a knock at the door.
Ocean opened it with a smile, even in his old age he had retained his youth, his beard rather white know and his hair along with it.
“We have guests,” he said coming to sit beside her in the warm living room.
“Oh?” Luna croaked, “whom? Euan is always around, he and his wife don’t count you know.”
Ocean laughed, “No it’s not Euan.”
The door opened and Luna smiled broadly, getting up.
“My child, why didn’t you say you going to be here?” Luna asked.
Artic smiled at her, Long Arrow standing behind her. Luna hugged her and then Long Arrow afterwards.
“I thought we did,” Artic said, “you know that my daughter, Kemi, was to have a baby yes? You remember?”
“Of course I do,” Luna scoffed, “why would I forget something like that?”
She went back to her rocking chair and practically fell back in.
“Well, she had a baby girl,” Artic said and there was a little commotion outside, and Euan, his wife Aria, and Kemi with her husband came in with the little bundle.
“Sorry Luna,” Euan said, “couldn’t resist stopping them just to see the little darling.”
“I will forgive you, if you let me see her?” Luna said.
Kemi smiled and brought the bundle, and laid her in Luna’s arms.
Luna smiled softly, but then it drooped a little, those brilliant green eyes, she had only seen once before in her life.
“What did you name her?” Ocean asked.
“Sol.”
