Just a teaser, more to come!
Red Moon
Chapter one
With the heavy stench of blood and a bloodcurdling scream the dark hooded man finished his job.
With his ax in hand he ran leaving the bloody female corpse behind, sprawled across the forest floor. The corpse lay motionless for maybe minutes. Slowly ever so slowly an eye opened then another to reveal pitch black orbs. The female corpse rose at an inhuman speed, its mouth twisted into a crooked toothless smirk. It looked up towards the moon and the eyes flicked back to normal with only the slightest trace of that horrid abyss of darkness.
It began to move with its arms at its side dangling and the head to the side barely attached to the neck. It moved with its feet barely touching the floor, as if it were floating. Faster it moved searching for the hooded man. When it finally came to a cave, from inside she could see the fire burning and smell the man. Like in slow motion in it went, making small pitiful growls.
The man rose to his feet, suddenly aware of a new presence. His eyes darted to the entrance and widened in terror as he recognized the figure.
“No…no..NO!” he screamed backing away.
The bloodied female moved forward stopping inches before the man.
“You thought you’d do it..”
“No! You’re dead! I killed you!!” hollered the man.
“Oh yes I’m dead, all right. But then again I’ve always been dead,” answered the dead woman in a raspy voice. Its eyes turned black and with its mangled arm reached out to grab the man. The man struggled in vain. His eyes filled with tears and ran down his cheeks staining his gaunt hollow face.
“Please!” he begged.
The corpse shook her head and let out a spine chilling laugh.
“Fool! You thought you’d finish it! But the truth is that no one can! I can never die, because I’m already dead. I will never leave this place; I will never stop tormenting your family. Never! It’s your entire fault, it’s all their fault. What am I? I might be a ghost, but I’m too real for that. Now…” she paused and stared straight into his hazel eyes. “Be gone!”
The young man tried to look away but he couldn’t. As he stared into those eyes and felt his life flash before his eyes his only regret was not having succeeded and the dark realization that it would never stop..the rest of his family would be next. He had failed in ridding them of it and he had to pay the price.
