Freedom
It’s our chosen shield
For every lie and mistake
Our God given excuse to hate,

You think you’re so clever
With the words written in stone
Gave you some kind of power
Over every person and every home

America is the greatest place on earth
If you’ve got some exterior worth,
And if you know that the truth
Is how much bullshit you can spew

I’m angry?
Not really just disappointed,
That our flag and our constitution
Has become every lying bastard’s excuse

They’ve got the freedom to hate
They’ve got the liberty to lie
They’ve got the right to kill
You

Everyone is in a uproar about the new greatest scandal
Doesn’t fit in with American values
But every “judge” has their own little affair
With lust, sex, and drugs

But we’re Americans
Free to say what we want
And do as we please
Ignorant of any responsibility
That may come with such freedom...

But now, those fools open their eyes
Only to find another million dollar home on fire
Turned a blind eye to another man’s plight
Then screamed when they were on the other side

Where did it go
The hope to make something better
To make a real life Rapture
Did we forget?

That we’ve got the freedom to love
That we’ve got the right to help
That we’ve got the liberty to remember
You

To uplift one another
Consider every man your brother
No declaration of independence
Except for our independence as one

So concerned with remembering who to hate
We give up any chance to love
Or to tolerate what’s different from us
Is it really so hard to agree to disagree?

This isn’t about my country
Because I don’t have the right to lay any claim
It’s about ours and what it’s worth
More than gold and war

Freedom
Doesn’t have to be a bullet
