A Day at Vampzard

Hello! I’m 14 and I’m a half-vampire, half-wizard.

The trouble is, since my mom is a vampire and my dad is a wizard, I don’t exactly fit in.

One day when I came home from another day of being teased and called a freak, my mom called me into the cellar. She was sitting on her coffin, waiting for me.

When I got beside her she said, “ You know how you’ve been telling me about those kids at school who call you a freak? I found a way for you to go to school and not be teased! You’ll be going to my old school, Vampzard. It’s a school for vampires, wizards and enchantresses and it is where I met your father.”

“Oh great,” I thought, “Instead of just being a freak, I’m going to a freak school!”

But in reality I said,“ Thanks mum, I love you so much!!”

So that’s how it began. I never knew that Vampzard would change my life forever…

About 2 months later I was aboard a flying invisible bus on it’s way to Vampzard. It was a boring flight and it took about 5 hours to get there.

By the way did I mention I’d be staying at the school campus?

As I was about to get out of the bus, I felt my jaw drop. In front of me was the biggest building I had ever seen! Behind me other students grumbled, asking what the hold up was. After about 30 seconds I realized I was holding everyone up, so I jumped off the bus and ran to the school.

Once I was in there, I was even more amazed. The inside looked like a replica of Hogwarts, a school in one of my favorite books. Once I got over the inside and outside I remembered I would have classes. As I was walking by I saw everyone at a notice board. Slowly I made my way up to it and read:

Dear students,

I would just like to remind everyone that the Halloween dance will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. Everyone please remember to bring the boy or girl of your liking to it. And remember everyone must participate. That is all for now.

Signed,

Principle Arra Sails

Great. Now I had classes and a stupid dance to go to. Except a second later I didn’t think it was stupid, when I saw the most beautiful girl walking towards me.

She was short, with long wavy jet –black hair. Her skin was tanned, so I decided she was an enchantress, since vampires can’t go out in the sun (though half vampires can).

So then I decided that my goal for the next 2 days would be to get her to go to the party with me. Now I am not a shy person, so I immediately went up to her and acting as cool as possible asked her, “ Hi there, could you help me? I’m new here and I can’t find any of my classes.”

She looked at me surprised and said, “ Sure, my name’s Nicole, what’s yours?”

That was the question I had been dreading. I replied, “ It’s too embarrassing to speak of.”

Nicole laughed saying, “ Ok. By the way what classes are you in?”

Darn. My one flaw in my plan had been seen. The truth is that my parents had said that I get to chose whatever I want.

Instead I answered, “ I forgot, but if you told me yours I might remember.”

Nicole replied, “ I just took the English package.”

Ahah! I guess I’ll be an English genius!

So I said, “Ah now I remember, I’m taking the English package too.”

“Oh really, then which book did you like, Stones or The Blue Helmet?” She replied.

I decided on The Blue Helmet.

“Blue Helmet, of course!.”

“Wow, same here!”

Wow I got real lucky with that one. Time to move in for the kill.

As casually as possible I asked her, “ Hey Nicole would you like to go to the Halloween party with me?”

Surprisingly she replied, “ Sure but you could have asked me from the beginning.”

With my mouth gaping I said, “How did you know!?”

Her reply was, “ Cute boys like you have minds waiting for enchantresses to see into.”

With a grin on her face she said “ Now lets get to that English class we’ve been putting off.”

And with that I got myself a date and a friend all at once.

The next day by 5:00 pm I had bathed 3 times, changed 14 times and messed up my room more than anyone else in the universe probably ever had.

I conjured up a rose and walked out of my room and into the girls section of the school. After around 30 minutes, I finally found Nicole’s room. Although at first I felt hesitant, I finally had the guts to knock on the door.

When she opened the door all I could do was stare. She was wearing a stunning red dress which looked great on her. Then I remembered the rose and I gave it to her.

Nicole stated, with a smile on her face, “ You’re a rather classy boy.”

“I do try.”

Then I just happened to look at the watch and realized it was 5:45.

“Oh no! We’re gonna be late!”

That’s when I remembered we could teleport there. So by 5:50 we were already there. In the next ten minutes people started teleporting left, right and center. By 6:00 the dance hall was full.

Though it only lasted 2 hours, Nicole and I had lots of fun dancing and eating. The party was great and when it was over, we teleported to Nicole’s room and talked.

On my way out I said goodnight but then teleported behind her as a mouse. I squeaked and Nicole screamed. Then I made myself me again and I just looked at Nicole and we both burst out laughing. Our laughter could be heard echoing down the halls.

I’m sure that I will remember this Halloween for the rest of my life.
