The Race

There’s a race we all run
it’s called “The Race of Life”,
it’s a long and windy road
filled with trials, pain, and strife.

Everyday I pray
for endurance while I run,
that I may be an example to others
a reflection of the Son.

There are many roads in this race
only one road wins,
use wisdom in your decision
however, your actions will ultimately choose.

The straight and narrow path
is a difficult one to walk;
it requires a great deal of effort
and is more than just talk.

Through trials by fire
your faith is put to the test,
stay focused on the goal
and let God take care of the rest.

When it’s all over
when my race is run,
I can’t wait to hear those words
God’s voice saying, “Well done”.
