Emma was starring out her bed room window. Today was the day in which she and her group were to learn if they were ready or not. If they were ready they would go to the trials.
“Emma,” someone called
Emma turned around to find that she was staring at her friend Jason, who seemed hurried with his hair flying everywhere and his glasses eschew. “Jason, are we a little rushed today?”
“Haw? What?” asked Jason. Jason was afraid that he might not make it. He desperately wanted to make the trials. If he did not make it he would have to go home and explain. He hated explaining. Explanations were tiring, especially when talking to his parents.
He woke up to reality when Emma shook him hard yelling something about did you even here me? Instead of answering he just yelled “gota be there in three min,” he said as he ran off, he did not want another explanation.
Ted hated assessments! Couldn’t he ever sleep in? No! Five O’clock wake ups every single day.
Damila whispered in his ear “if you don’t wake up you won’t make it to the trials, I think their might even be a dragon jousting event.”
Ted jumped out of his bed as fast as he could. Damn that assessment. Ted was the oldest of the trainees going to the assessment on fighting skills. When his master, master Fucha, died, it was believed that he was not ready so he had waited for a whole year. Damila had come to him when master Fucha had died because normally, in wars, if the opponents had captured a dragon and used it, anybody who freed the dragon who have the dragons gratitude and the dragon. When master Fucha had died, the dagon he had freed came to him. Dragons were rare in his country unless they were minis which came in extra. Everyone had a mini.
Damila yelled at him “Ella will be unhappy if you don’t hurry.”
“I’m hurrying okay,” Tad yelled at her. Trust the dragon to know that the thought of Ella would get him moving. Ella had gone last year, but still came to visit him. He was glad that he still had his two younger friends Emma and Jason.
Ella was in line waiting for the assessment to finish. The bystanders like her were not aloud into the assessment chamber until the assessment finished. She hated this waiting time. When was it going to finish! She had seen Ted go in along with the 2 younger friends he had made. She knew though that unless they could get dragons, Ted's friends would probably never see him after the trials. Dragon fighters did not mix with foot fighters.
She would soon be moving to a dragon lair. Foot fighters lived in border barracks. The border of the country they were at war with, Smalla. She would get a queens lair for her translucent blue queen dragon. Her dragons’ circle of blue diamonds marked her as a queen dragon. Then a scratch at her shoulder reminded her that it was time to feed Ruby, her queen dragon.
