What Friends Are For

“You love me” “you hate me”,

I don’t know anymore,

You cared so much,

Yet you walked out the door,

But before you left

You said some horrible things

That hurt so much more,

I didn’t know that’s what friends were for.

I hoped we’d stay friends,

And I hoped you’d be fine,

But I guess that assumption,

Was another mistake of mine,

Go ahead get mad and stomp away,

You can leave; have your way,

I’m not stopping you a second more,

I guess that’s what friends are for.

We both took a chance,

I know it was hard,

But through it all,

We both stayed alive,

Now pick yourself up,

I’d help you myself,

You say you don’t need me anymore,

But isn’t that what friends are for?

I’ve moved on,

But I’m still here,

You’ll do the same,

Don’t cry another tear,

You’ll find someone new,

Who will be perfect and great,

I’ll be waiting for you to walk back through that door,

Because isn’t that what friends are for…?

A/N: This is to one of my friends. I got into a relationship with him and now we’re just friends, it’s not working out so well :(

I really hope he moves on soon There are so many better girls…
