You're Lonely
(tentatively titled)

Life's not simple but love is sweet
and though a time we can't repeat,
there's moments that continue coming.

There's a war inside and outside here
and lest for those who cry a tear,
there's nothing to do but keep running.

Can I catch you so you won't fall?
Can I raise you up higher than before?
I swear I'm gonna try.

Can I take your hand so you won't stumble;
so when the lightning strikes and makes the earth rumble,
maybe you won't cry.

I'm sorry you're lonely... I'll try to be
physically there and mentally.
I wish I could be strong for you...

I want to keep you safe, make you feel alive
so this summer let's pack and go for a drive.
I'll go anywhere you want to.

Can I catch you so you won't fall?
Can I raise you up higher than before?
I swear I'm gonna try.

Can I take your hand so when it gets cold
you'll have someone there, someone you can hold
and maybe you won't cry.

I love you still, and this I swear.
I can't promise I'll always be there,
but I swear that I will try.

If you need someone, I don't care what time-
I want to keep you safe, make you feel alive
I never meant to make you cry.
