This is a silly poem about my secret love for Chris's Dad. That sounds kind of wrong but we've all seen 'em! Those really hot dads who have sub par sons? Well Mr. Chris's Dad, this is for you. [FYI, my love for this man is not real]

As I sit in my car
And think about how so far
We've gotten nowhere
And you don't seem to care
It drives me insane
How you're always in my brain
I really can't stand
How your name is like a brand
In the middle of my heart
The centerpiece part
That should be given to him
But I can't because then
You wouldn't be in my life
And have I mentioned that your wife
Is beginning to really be a pain
I can't see what you stand to gain
By keeping her around
When the new love you've found
Is so much better
and younger than her
But of course this is weird
And it's just as I've feared
You don't know I exist
Even if I shook my fist
In your face
You wouldn't be able to place
Where you've seen me before
Because you tend to ignore
All of your son's girlfriends
But I'll allow you to make amends
By cooking me dinner
Without her
Just for the two of us
It'll be great because
We can finally say all we've been hiding
At least providing
That you're that sort of man
The one who can
Open up to an almost complete stranger
And not feel the slightest danger
Of rejection or shame
No one else's flame
Will be higher than mine
And all we have is time
And did I happen to mention
That your son didn't get a pension
Of your intellect?
I'll bet you didn't expect
Me to say that
And in fact
I'll say anything you want me to
Because all of this is for you
And it's really kind of sad
Because…well you're Chris's dad…
And I love you
It's quite true
Even if you never see here
What I've written there
Just know
Our love will grow
In this fiction
Which is my depiction
Of a very big lie
Good bye!
