Chapter 10

Vincent watched as Jesse fed upon the fallen hunter, a smile on his face. He collapsed to the floor catching Jesse’s attention. She ran over to her Sire’s side, and knelt beside him.

“What’s happened my lord? Are you injured?” She asked.

“Yes, but nothing to fear, I merely need to feed. Now, help me to my feet. There’s only one hunter left, and then we’ll be safe.”

Jesse lifted Vincent to his feet and with her as a crutch he limped to the chamber door. Pulling it open they left the room just as Freddie and Laura left the one across from them. There was a moment where each couple stared at the other, and then Freddie reached for the Light Capsule Blaine had given him.

“Jesse, back!” Vincent yelled, pulling Jesse into the chamber, and pulling the door closed. The Light Capsule entered the Chamber just as the door closed and Freddie watched as the flash came from under the door. Freddie turns to Laura after a moment.

“Laura, go outside, there’s a van out there. Tell them I sent you, and that I’m going to finish this once and for all.”

“No, you’re my friend Freddie, I’m not going to leave you here alone.”

“Laura, I’m not loosing anymore friends, go now!”

Laura had tears in her eyes, she had caused so much trouble, but she listened to Freddie. She walked to the exit of the tomb, but turned back towards Freddie, who was watching her.

“She’s sick or something Freddie, you can do it.” She said, and went through the door.

Freddie looked around the Chamber he was in, he new that there were probably Vampires in all the Chambers, but that they would turn back to normal if he could just kill their queen. He didn’t want to kill unnecessarily, so he walked straight towards the door opposite of the entrance, guessing that it’d be her chamber, it was the biggest and most decorative in the Chamber. He slowly approached the door, and stopped as he reached it. Slowly, he pulled a vial of holy water out of his pocket. He had no idea what he’d be up against; taking on what he could only imagine would be the strongest being he’d ever seen. He swallowed and let out s deep breath before he pushed open the door slowly. He saw her right away; standing next to what he could only guess was her coffin. He stepped into the room, causing her to look up. Upon seeing him, she bared her teeth, and leapt at him. He tossed the vial of holy water at her, missing her just barely. She hit him with the force of a car, throwing him from the chamber. He slammed to the ground as the Vampire queen approached him, rage in her eyes. She grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air.

“Your life ends here mortal.” She said, baring her fangs.
