I wish there was something to be said instead of this silence deafening us
but we walk along unseen, unheard
This is life
this is life

I’m withering inside, my blackened soul mourns for innocence lost
and in this silence I scream for something else
Is this life?
I want something else

Can you kiss this away, can you love this void
away?
I wish I could give you me, but these walls will not fall
my heart beats only for me
and your heart beats only for me
I don’t want to be selfish, but still, I can’t give yours back
are two hearts better than one?

Our fingertips trace imaginary patterns on each others skin,
ghosting touches of unspoken poetry
and I wish there was something to be said in this silence
where your words are reverberating within my very core
but I choke on my reply, and the words turn to ash in my mouth
I wish for a happy ending where there is none
Is this life?
this is life
