Forever in Written Word

I consider myself a life of contradiction.
I love words; written, spoke, sung
It makes no never mind to me
Just as long as letters are coming together

I live in the land of narration
Thrive in the world of oration
My soul knows is held inside by punctuation
My breath is of alliteration

I needn’t always rhyme
I only care if there is expression
Of feelings, thoughts and worries
Which kill if kept inside

But while I need words to live
I can’t ever say what needs to be said
There’s a block of some sort
Preventing my usual flow of prose

My throat closes up on me
As my mind screams “I need you.”
My mouth is left to gape wide and silent
While my soul yells “I love you.”

So while I can say anything else
With poetic imagination
When it comes to my heart
I’m forever in the written word
