Mirrored Glass
Your face I see so clearly now,
Reflecting like the mirrored glass.
For years your memories have danced in my mind,
From so long ago in the time of you and I.
But you are different now,
Your face so much thinner,
Those once luminous eyes,
Now shadowed and dreary.
What happened to the man who stole my heart,
And dropped it,
So that it shattered into thousands of porcelain pieces?
What happened to the strong young man,
Who carried with him the hearts of so many?
Before me stands not that man,
But an old forgotten shadow,
Of what he once was.
The arms that bore so many in their prime,
Are now withered and weak.
The heart that once beat so strongly,
Is fading.
The mirrored glass does not lie,
From it your heart you can not hide.
The years are catching up to you,
Your reflection is slowly fading.
In time you will be but a sad sweet memory to me,
So let my last words shatter your reflection.
I really did love you,
But your mistakes are beyond count,
And time has run out.
Your reflection has been broken.
