digi-gal-rox: it's been a while since I've actually used this site. I've been so wrapped up in my fanfiction account, I almost forgot about this. Well, this is a new story that I will be focussing on. This is actually inspired by a fanfic I read, so if there is any similar actions, I apologize! Just a few pointers before you start reading. I am basing this particular story in the streets of Tokyo. So it will be meshed together with not only some Japanese words, but also English. Well, other than that I hope you enjoy it!
Note: Italics represent flashbacks.

CHAPTER 1 - Unexpected meeting

Chuckling softly, Yamadera Saki waved good-bye to the running students as they left the building. Beside her Seki Daisuke let out a laugh. Shaking her head slightly, Saki glared at her friend.
"You're on to laugh, Daisuke-kun." she commented. "Iori-san gave you a present." Daisuke smiled in responce.
"Because I told them it was my birthday." he responded. "On the other hand, it's obvious to say that Junichi-san likes you. He glares at me everytime I'm near you." Saki snorted.
"Teenagers," Daisuke laughed in responce.
"They'll get over it. In time." he added. Glancing at his watch, a smile appeared on his lips. "What happened to that dinner date of yours with Yamato-san?"
"Yikes!" rushing out of the school building, Saki waved a final good bye to her friend before disappearing into the crowds.

"I can't believe that you actually believe in that," Saki muttered, shoving the paper into her bag. Yamato Hikaru giggled, her eyes shining brightly.
"How can you not?" Saki frowned.
"Hikaru-chan," she warned. The woman simply smiled.
"It's a chance at true love, Saki-chan." Saki rolled her eyes in responce. "Saki-chan!" she whined. Saki made a face in responce.
"Mou, Hikaru-chan!" grinning, Hikaru began to recite what was written on the paper that Saki had shoved away.
"
'Someone from your past is the one you should not let go'" she sighed happily. "Someone from your past, I wonder who it could be." Saki made a face.
"Hikaru-chan!"

"Gomen!" Saki exclaimed, as she took her seat opposite her friend. Smiling, Hikaru simply shrugged.
"It's O.K, Saki-chan." the woman responded. "Ne, how's it going with that fortune?" Saki made a face.
"You're still on about it?"
"How else will you find someone?" Hikaru responded, her eyes glowing. Saki sighed heavily.
"This coming from an engaged woman. I wonder how Rei-kun puts up with you." Hikaru giggled in responce. "So, what's so important about tonight? I hope you're not going to set me up on a blind date."
"Iie," Hikaru shook her head. "Demo, I have a favor to ask of you."
"Ara?" Saki looked at her curiously. "Nandesu ka?" she frowned slightly, at her friends evil glime. "Hikaru-chan!" she suddenly cried out, causing everyone to look at her. Ignoring them, Saki shook her head. "Iie!"
"Demo-" Hikaru started.
"It's just a piece of paper, Hikaru-chan. If it happens, it happens. I am not going to go out looking for this guy, whoever he may be!" fuming, Hikaru let it go.
"Hai, hai."

Chiba Rei sighed heavily, as he waited patiently. Glancing at his cell phone, he began to wonder if he would really turn up. Realization hitting him, he began to wonder if something happened. A cough from behind him, broke his thoughts. Turning around sharply, Rei was greated by a suited up Ikeda Miyu.
"Yo," Miyu greeted. Rei smiled, grasping his friends hand.
"O genki desu ka?" Rei asked, releasing Miyu's hand.
"Genki desu." Miyu replied. Taking out a file, he handed it to him. "Everything should be in there." he informed. He turned around slightly, "There is still a few more things I need to take care of there."
"Hai." Rei nodded. "Be careful." nodding, he left.

-the next day-

Sighing happily, the honey haired girl entered the coffee shop. Humming to herself, she stood in line where a short queue had already started. At the vibrating of her phone, she quickly read the message from Daisuke. Giving a loud snort, Saki quicklt shoved her phone back in her bag.
"What would you like?" the man at the counter asked. Looking up at the dark browned haired man, Saki smiled.
"Mochachino, one sugar." she ordered, "And a Raspberry muffin, to go." she added. Nodding the man took the order, and returned shortly with the two items. "Arigatou," she smiled taking her order. The young woman left without another word.
"Ne, Miyu-san!" Miyu let out a sigh of relief when Takehito returned.
"Ne, Takehito." Miyu suddenly asked, as he handed the man his cap and apron, "Who was that girl I just served?"
"Eh?" Takehito glanced out the window, as the honey haired girl climbed into her car. "Oh, her."
"You know her?"
"Not really," Takehito responded. "She always comes here at this time." he simply shrugged. "Always has a Mocha with one sugar. Naze?" the young man smiled evilly, "Ne, are you interested in her?" Miyu simply stared back at the younger man.
"You know I'm already seeing someone." Takehito made a face.
"You're still with that spoil brat?" Miyu sighed heavily, running his hand through his hair. "Not that she's a bad person or anything." Takehito quickly added. "Demo... about that girl, I don't know much about her. I do know that she's a teacher at the local high school."
"And you know this how?"
"She teaches my nephew, ofcourse." Takehito smiled proudly.

-that night-

Hikaru shook her head slightly, before placing her cell phone back on the table. Rei looked at her curiously, before taking another sip from his drink.
"Saki-chan said that she got held up. Something about her sister-in-law burning water?"
"How the hell do you burn water?" Rei asked, raising an eye. The woman simply shrugged.
"Who knows. She said that she'll be here in about ten minutes."
"Doesn't really matter. Miyu said the same thing. He messaged me, while you girls were too busy gossiping." Hikaru stuck her tongue out.
"How is Ikeda-kun doing anyway? I haven't seen him in a while."
"Well," Rei nodded. "Work's just pulled him up." Looking up, the man brightened up. "Speak of the devil, there he is now." waving his arm, he caught the attention of the slightly flushed man. As he made his way towards the table, Hikaru glanced at her phone again.
"Gomen," Miyu breathed, "Traffic was heavy." glancing at the empty seat beside him, he sent a quizing look at his friend. "We expecting company?"
"Hai." Hikaru smiled. "A friend of mine. She's running a little late." nodding, Miyu dropped his jacket on his chair with a heavy sigh. "I'll be right back."

"Gomen gomen!" Saki cried out, as she quickly took her seat. "I'd never thought that traffic would be heavy at this hour!" she paused, "Come to think of it, it never is!" her eyes fell upon the jacket in the empty seat. Her eyes suddenly began to flash as she sent her friend a glare. "Hikaru-chan! I told you, no-"
"This isn't it!" Hikaru suddenly exclaimed, raising her hand in defence. "He's just Rei's friend." Saki's face went sour, before glancing at Rei who nodded. "Hontou?"
"Hontou." Rei responded, before Hikaru could get a word in. Rising to her feet, Saki made a face at Hikaru.
"I'll be right back. Restroom." she supplied.

Fiddling with her skirt, Saki failed to notice the man walking straigt towards her. Giving a soft yelp, her bag fell to the floor. Hastily, she knelt down as she began to pick up her fallen items. The man began to help.
"Gomen," he mumbled. She looked up briefly at the man, as he handed her her last item.
"Iie, I should be the one saying that. I wasn't looking where I was going." she flashed an awkward smile at the man. His phone suddenly rang. Quietly excusing himself, he answered it, as Saki made her way to the bathroom.
"Ikeda." he said blutly. His eyes widened slightly, before nodding to himself. "I'll be right there." sighing heavily, he shoved his phone back into his pocket and made his way back to the table, picking up his jacket.
"Miyu?" Rei looked at him curiously.
"Gomen, but something came up. Looks like I won't be meeting this friend of yours, Hikaru-san." the woman pouted slightly. "Maybe next time." he added, causing the woman's face to brighten.
"I'll hold you to that." Hikaru beamed. Nodding, Miyu left.
"Ne, Hikaru." Rei frowned, "You were really going to them up, ne?" Hikaru simply shurugged.
"So what if I did?"
"What makes you think it'll work?" he questioned. "He already has a girlfriend."
"And didn't you tell me that he was planning of breaking up with her?" she shot back.
"Who was breaking up with who?" Saki asked, returning. She frowned slightly. "You were going to set me up with someone! Hikaru-chan! You promised!" Rei sighed heavily.
"It doesn't matter anymore, Saki-san. My friend had to leave anyway." making a face at Hikaru, Saki took her seat.

-a few weeks later-

"Hai, hai." Miyu mumbled into his cell phone. Running his hand through his hair, the young man leaned again the lift walls, before taking a deep breath. Shutting the phone, he remained silent as a slightly annoyed woman entered the lift, muttering something. He frowned slightly. She looked familiar. Calming, the woman turned around slightly.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, all annoyance gone from her face. He quickly shook his head.
"Iie... demo... you look familiar." she frowned slightly, studying the man before her.
"I think you served me at the cafe," she murmured thoughtfully. "And helped me with my things." Miyu paused for a moment before brightening up.
"Maybe." at the sound of the 'ding' the woman turned around slightly.
"My floor," she muttered making a face. Leaving, she failed to hear the 'Oi!' calling for her.

"You're here, Saki-chan!" her sister-in-law beamed. Megumi quickly took hold of her hand, before noticing a young man running up to them. "Eh?" Saki, turned around slightly gave a heavy sigh. It was the man from the lift.
"Nandesu ka?" she asked, looking at him. He quickly handed her notebook that had dropped.
"You dropped this in the lift." he stated.
"Ne, Yamadera-san!" a voice called. Both women turned around.
"Hai!" they called at the same time. Miyu's eyes widened.
"Yamadera...?" he murmured. Saki faced him confused, "Yamadera Saki?"
"Hai...?" his face suddenly brightened up.
"Ikeda Miyu," he introduced himself. He watched in amusement as her eyes widened.
"Ikeda-san...?"

"I still don't get it." she frowned. He chuckled softly. Sighing in frustration the young teen looked away from her text book stubbornly.
"It's not that hard, Saki." he simply stated.
"Demo... Miyu-kun..." she whined. He simply gave her a stern look.
"Try it again, Saki."
"Demo..." she made a face again. He shook his head, laughing quietly. "Nani?" she complained.
"Betsuni," he chuckled. "Here, I'll show you again."

"Anata!" she suddenly cried out, pointing her finger at him. Megumi looked at her sister-in-law curiously.
"Saki-chan?" Saki smiled weakly at the older woman.
"Gomen," she quickly apologized. Giving a slight bow, Saki turned to face the man before her. "O genki desu ka?" Miyu simply smiled.
"Genki desu." Miyu paused, "It's really good seeing you again, Saki."
"Anou... ano hito wa dare desu ka?" Megumi asked uncertainly, confused at the scene that played before her.
"Ikeda Miyu." he introduced himself. "I want to school with Saki." Megumi smiled at him.
"Dozo yoroshku,"
"Yamadera-san!" a voice called out again. This time the voice belonging to Hikaru, who emerged from one of the doors behind them. "Ikeda-kun!" Saki's eyes widened when she looked at the two.
"You know each other?!"
"He's Rei's friend." Hikaru paused, "You know each other?!" her eyes started to glow. Saki gave a weak smile at her friend, backing away slightly.
"H... hai." Miyu chuckled softly. Watching the two girls bicker, Miyu stole a quick glance at his phone. Sighing heavily, he watched as Megumi jumped between the two.
"Yamato-san! Saki-chan!"
"It was really good seeing you again, Saki." Miyu smiled, "We should definately catch up."
"Un!" she nodded her head smiling.
"I should be going now. Sayonara, Saki."

"I know for sure it will come true!" Hikaru cried out happily. "It says someone from your past, and he's from your past!" Saki sighed heavily.
"Mou, Hikaru-chan..."
"Demo..."
"Hikaru-chan..." she warned. Hikaru simply smiled.
"Hai hai, I won't interfer." Saki eyed her carefully. "I promise!" Saki frowned still unconvinced. She snapped her fingers causing the woman opposite her to jump. "How will you get in contact with him?"
"Hikaru-chan!"
"I meant for this 'catch-up' of yours, Saki-chan." Hikaru responded proudly. "I know! I'll get Rei to give him your number!" Saki shook her head gravely.
"Mou, Hikaru-chan. How do I even put up with you..." Hikaru grinned in responce.
"Demo... you should really get out there again, Saki-chan." Saki shook her head.
"Iie. I am happy with my life, just the way it is." Hikaru made a face.
"How can you say that, Saki-chan!" Saki simply smiled. "Saki-chan!"
"Hikaru-chan!" Saki responded mockingly. Sighing heavily, the raven haired girl sunk into her chair. "Why did you want me here in the first place?" she suddenly asked.
"Oh!" Hikaru jumped to her feet and disappeared around the corner. A few minutes later, she returned with a package.
"Nandesu ka?" Saki asked suspiciously. Hikaru shrugged.
"Rei told me to pass it onto you." Saki's eyes widened, when she took the package. "Saki-chan?" opening it, Saki gave a heavy sigh. "Saki-chan?" Hikaru murmured worriedly. "Nandesu ka?" Saki simply smiled before eyeing her friend, her eyes shining evilly.
"It's the dress I'm meant to wear to your wedding."
"Nani?!"

"So you know Saki-san?" Rei asked, slightly amused. Miyu sighed heavily before nodding. "Maybe you shouldn't have said anything with Hikaru around." Miyu chuckled in responce.
"Which reminds me, I forgot to get her number..." Rei smirked slightly.
"Asking her out, are you?" he teased. Miyu shook his head.
"Iie. I just want to catch up." Rei chuckled.
"I think Hikaru is rubbing of on me." whipping out his cell phone, he showed Miyu Saki's number. "Were you able to find what you were looking for?" he asked, seriousness on his face, after Miyu had copied the number.
"Un," the brunette nodded. "My suspetions were right. Looks like we can make our move now." he paused. "We can start the raid tonight." Rei nodded.

-the next day-

"I can't believe Rei gave my number to you!" Saki mumbled. Miyu chuckled, as their coffee's arrive. "Not that I mind at all," she added quickly.
"Well, I did want to catch up with you, Saki. It's been too long." she nodded.
"Un!" an awkward silence had fallen upon the two.
"Anou... so, where do you work at?" he asked, quietly breaking the silence.
"I'm a music teacher at the local high school." Saki smiled.
"A teacher, huh?" Miyu smirked. "As I recalled, you hated school... I'm really surprised." Saki made a face.
"What about you? Where do you work at?" she questioned. Before Miyu could respond, his cell phone rang, glancing at the screen he let out a sigh.
"Gome, but I have to take this." rising to his feet, Saki watched curiously as he left, before sinking into the comforts of her seat. It had been exactly thirteen years since they had last seen each other. Closing her eyes, the honey haired girl allowed the memory to flow back.

He stared at her silently, unsure what to say. Each time he opened his mouth to say something, no words came out. He sighed heavily, running his hand through his hair.
"Kore..." she smiled grimly.
"Gomen, Miyu-kun." his eyes fell slightly.
"Anou... when do you leave?"
"Tonight," she mumbled. "I honestly did try to tell you, but it's just that... everytime I do, you always have something else to do."
"Saki..." she looked at him, giving him an encouraging smile.
"Arigato."
"Eh?" she smiled at him.
"You've always helped me, when ever I needed it. Especially from that jerk." Miyu's eyes softened, when he noticed that she was on the verge of tears.
"Saki..." he paused, "You will definately be missed." she looked at him, tears now falling from her face. "I hope you have a good life in Tokyo." she roughly handed him a small white object.
"Saki...?" she smiled at him, wiping her tears.
"A good-bye present. And also to say thanks, for being there for me. Sayonara, Miyu-kun." she broke into a run before he could respond.
"Saki..."

"Saki...?" she looked up slightly alarmed.
"G...gomen!"
"Iie... demo..." he looked at her worriedly.
"I was just remembering the last time we met. Before I moved here." she sighed softly, rising to her feet, as Miyu grabbed his jacket.
"Gomen, but looks like I have to cut this catch-up short. Something's come up at work." he stated. She nodded her head.
"Ne, Miyu-kun..."
"Hai?" she looked at him for a moment before shaking her head.
"Betsuni." she sighed, "Demo, we should do this again next time." he smiled at her.
"Un,"

"Ne, Saki-chan!" Daisuke's teasing voice came, "How was your lunch date!" "It wasn't a date, Daisuke-kun." Saki frowned.
"Demo, Ikeda-san looks-"
"He is just my friend!" Saki exclaimed, gathering the last of the homework sheets she had to correct that night. The man simply smirked.
"That's not what I heard from Yamato-san." Saki made a face.
"How you two ever get along, I don't want to know." Daisuke chuckled in responce.
"Just to let you know, when he suddenly appeared here to take you out, Junichi-san, sure didn't look happy." he teased.
"Ne, Daisuke-kun?"
"Hai?"
"Get a life." the young man laughed in responce.
"Hai, hai, Yamadera-sensei."
