Could You Love Me?

I know that you don’t love me,

But could you?

All the time we’ve spent together,

Is that all wasted time?

The presents we’ve exchanged,

All the ice cream cones we’ve shared,

Does it all mean nothing?

How can you really not care?

The time I cried when my dog died,

When I helped you with the subjects you’ve failed,

How can it really mean nothing?

Could you love me if I told you?

Told you I’ve always loved you?

Wanted you right from the start?

My heart breaks when I see you with her.

Too many pieces to gather alone.

Do you really love her?

You love her more than me?

I know society would frown,

But I never took you as the kind of guy who cared.

If I knew you loved me I wouldn’t ponder,

A step as drastic as this.

But baby, if you love me,

Save me from this Hell.

This is my last chance to say good-bye,

So this is it, my sweet,

My love,

We will both be free.

I’ll be gone and you can be with her.

But please, baby, if you love me,

Pull me off this building,

Take the knife from my hand,

Remove the bullet from my gun,

Cut the rope I’m tying.

I just can’t bear to see you with her.

So baby, know that I love you,

Know that I always will.

But baby, I’ve got to save myself,

From this living Hell.

So good-bye, my sweet,

My love.

Know that I’ve always loved you,

And know that I always will.

AN: This story was written to be about a guy professing his love to his best guy friend since like, forever. I have a friend who said that my poem matched what she was writing, so if you want to see more about this sort of thing, see PhsycoHyperMistress ‘s profile and read “Gravian High”. She's on my favorites.
