My Prayer

I pray for a better tomorrow,
Where men can shake hands with women,
And exist as equals;

Where people will not be judged
according to their race, gender,
sexual preference, or religion,
But rather measured by the fullness
and depth of their hearts.

I pray for the people of this world;
For the people starving because they have too little,
And the people hurting because they have too much.

I pray for the lost to find heaven,
The found to be the guides for the lost,
The people somewhere in between
to catch the nearest train to eternal life.

I pray for my soul to be cleansed of darkness,
My heart to be filled with love,
My very essence to be the image of purity,
As I walk in the footsteps of the forgotten martyrs
who had the courage to bear the sins of the world,
So that I may live free of oppression.

I pray for spiritual magic to be restored,
For those who do not believe in miracles
to be blessed tenfold,
For the meek to find courage,
And for ultimate peace and justice
to be restored to the world.

I pray for a peaceful future,
Where people will be respected for their differences,
And will use them to encourage individuality in others,
Rather than using people’s unique qualities against them,
To force an ideal image of the world upon the just.

I pray for the will to keep living
despite the loneliness I have endured,
The courage to overcome the challenges I have yet to face,
And to ultimately be refined by the tragedies I have suffered,
Rather than weakened by them.

I pray for true friends that will love me
no matter what condition arises,
For family that will support me
through the all of the obstacles that lay
in the path to my souls ultimate freedom,
And for the motivation to do well
in everything I set out to accomplish in life.

I pray for all of the people that
I have met to find serenity,
And for each of them to walk into their
individual destinies under God.

I pray to experience
everything this world has to offer,
And to find happiness
in life's simple pleasures.

I pray to have my talents strengthened,
and to walk into the destiny
that God has planned for my life.

I pray for the safety and well being
of all of the people that I care for,
and to have a deep and meaningful life,
Filled with laughter and days worth remembering
In the long outstretched fields of forever.

And with all this I say,
