Like I’ll Never be the Same

My heart was on my sleeve

Before you went away to leave.

I hid behind broken smiles and fake laughs

I guess love just wasn’t good enough.

--

Isn’t it stupid how I’m waiting?

Does every cloud really have a silver lining?
Is it my heart I hear breaking?
Or am I listening to your soft sobbing?

--

Again, the world crashed down on me,

As the music killed me slowly.

I hated how I loved you still

Knowing you’ll never understand how I really feel.

--

Every word written

Every utterance spoken

Every music played

Every mistake made

--

If you smile, I’ll smile too

If you don’t want the pain, I’ll take it all from you

If you speak, I’ll listen

If you love me, then I’ll love you again.
