In the night in the city

Observing out my window

Past the pale white moon

Are the stars yearning to be reached

And tonight in the city

The weather gets chilly

Owls are out gazing

Looking at the stars wanting to be reached

When the moon passes by

In the open black sky

With the animals running free

The land becomes an open field

To combat the darkness

People light up their streets

Get cozy in their seats

While under the stars eating a hot meal

Come ye children

Come boys and girls

Come ye children

And see the wonders of this world

Mines are distant in the grounds

No iron bodies found

All but quiet sound

The core of a hustling bustling town

But at night that’s their world

Covered in snow

Covered in a who knows

Take what’s yours and get out of here

Don’t be afraid

No, no, no

Don’t be afraid

I know

Tire tracks out in the road

A woman is all alone

With sadness in her tone

Don’t you know that she is miserable?

But in the city night

You always see such a sight

Money always runs tight

For it’s the one and only principle

Out in the night

Out in the night

You stand alone

Out in the city

Out in the city

It’s just a broken road

City night

Oh city night
