A/N: So yes, there are different titles. The one below was a title forcefully created. Directly, this one relates more to the message of the poem, I suppose. Um, the word, "bitter" had come to mind as I edited my poem, hence the title in the summary, Bitter. Figure out why? Anyhoo, enjoy?

Past the Barricades

What happened?...

What’s with all these barriers,
The walls

You,
Lack of emotion,

(numb)

Your mind, full of-
No warmth,
but rather:
Clouds
of emptiness-
angriness (perhaps)

no?

still.
You-
just
…to the extent of becoming

(no. being)
Heartless and cold,

I know you’re hurt,
I know, I know.
I know

You're covering-
Your agony.
Your fears?

I see it-

Your eyes,
Full of conflict,
Pain.
Hatred?

No more-
sparks or flame,

but Don’t you feel cold

You used to smile,
You used to laugh
Don’t you remember?
…You used to have
Fun

I try to help,
I try to be more understanding,
But how can I,

When you keep pushing me away
You won’t let me help you

no clear answers,
….just mumbles
no expressions
….just blank (angry?) stares

We don’t talk much anymore…
But every chance I get,
I ask
Are you okay?

It’s always a fine
a Yes
a Good

You say you are,
just fine

But why… is it that,
In your eyes,
I see you are dying

Day by day.

day by
day by day.

Damn it.
