Half-Place

In the deathly silence try to sleep

While in your mind swirl all the secrets that you keep

The darkness leaps and strangles you

How will you ever make it through?

This night so lonely without a single tear

To at least express your angry fear

The blackness and the darkness it’s all closing in

You can’t seem to scream or let the pain begin

You’re in this sort of half-place

Where not even you know your own face.
