A ghost by chance
She'd always remember the soft grass, the gentle breeze, the chatter of the students and of course…him.
Starkly beautiful he sat, bathed in the sunlight adjacent to her. Reading as he always did so lulled by the book.
So still, yet she watched him, intrigued by him as he was by her.
Flaxen-haired and the blue sky forever fixed in his eyes, he stopped to take her by the hand and led her away from him…forever.
Into the eyes.
The marble floor, the wooden benches that sat hundreds that waited for her. The lush and lavish formal suits adorning the many that loved her as she walked through those grand oak doors.
Her lithe body clad in lace and organza as she descended down the aisle, her face a pale mask of deception.
The smiles, the tears, the felicity of the many faces watched as they exchanged rings and the promise of 'till death do us apart' yet it was not meant to be.
Down the aisle again.
He watched, blood smearing his porcelain cheeks as they kissed.
His ebony hair, his empty eyes that were like a deep bottomless pit and the only thing that seemed alive was his rose petal lips. Such devastation…
Perhaps it was hallucination, perhaps it wasn't.
He was watching everything since that very kiss.
He saw how they grew apart, he heard their harsh words, and he witnessed the violence afflicted on her.
The rage growing inside of him as she fell to the ground, the sympathy for her as she ran into the room with tears veiling her gray eyes.
His fury was to be known.
And on the crystal mirror he wrote:
'The hole you put me in wasn't deep enough and I'm climbing back out'
He watched again, as the blonde man's eyes grew wide and fell to his death.
Her once silky hair was now disheveled and matted as she ensconced herself in the shower, the beads of water dribbled down her slowly.
It pained him to see her so.
Dreams...That's what he made her see.
The final hug, the firm and hopeless words and she watching him leave ever so silently with only a glance back as they parted for the very last time.
He never deserved what he got
Poised and with one blow, his blood spilled and only a white rose to be the last thing that would ever touch him.
Back into her eyes
It was delusion, it had to be as she encountered his pale reflection in the bathroom mirror and turned frantically to reach for him…only to adjoin nothing.
Even in her slumber she dreamed of him, only to awake to his gentle hush of a bittersweet farewell.
She reached for him once again and this time to caress his arm; to plead with him not to go.
Beautiful as he remembered-her gray eyes and only to gaze as she drew him towards his lips for the kiss of life.
Like a seam of light finally shooting out of the darkened water, he awoke.
Not to darkness but to his beating heart once again.
Yet she watched as his desolated ghost collapsed and faded.
Tears again, as she cried for him to come back, for him to speak with her, to be with her, still no one answered…she fell to her knees.
The house empty as she took out the last letter she had gotten from him.
'Don't stop if I fall and don't look back…baby bury me & fade to black.'
She cradled it in her arms… they would meet again.
