My words are only words
I place them around you like barriers
Thin transparent walls
You break through so easily
As if you don’t want them there
“Your walls aren’t strong enough!”
Is that what you’re trying to say?
My words aren’t good enough
Because they’re only words?

…You’re right, they are only words
And words can only get you so far
So I’ll stop using words…

And you’ll find, when you wake up
The birds will be a bit too loud
The sun will be a bit too bright
The air will be a bit too hot
And you’ll find, something’s missing

The slightly cool, moderately dark and soft…
Words you decided to throw away

My words are only words
But they can mean everything if you let them
