I Need You Too

My grasp just wasn’t strong enough to hold on

I watched as he walked away and she did, too

They left me, just like you soon will

All because of my need to be the best, to be the top of my game

Another cold blast of lonely winter wind

Another slap in the face from reality

I can easily say that I’ll be okay… that I don’t need anyone

But when you look into my heart, you see something different

My world is falling apart and I need someone to pull me back

To save me from falling into the bottomless pit…

But I must let you go

I can convince you I’ll be fine by myself

I can tell you I’ll get back on track without your help

But inside, I’m begging you not to leave me alone

I’m pleading for your touch of reassurance, your kiss in the night…

That is all just a hope, a dream

You’re gone and I’m alone, repairing what I broke

You have someone else now…someone who needs you

But you know something?

….I need you, too

NOTE: Yay, another poem from me!
