A/N: This poem was written by my creative writing class using a “poetry machine.” This is a folder with a slot cut in it so that each student can only see the line of poetry before theirs. Each student contributes one line. Thus, it is not connected, but more like a rambling thought pattern. Please r&r—many of my classmates have never posted writing online before, so they would appreciate each and every review. Bonus points if you can guess which line is mine! ; )

Writing Class Poem #5

---
’Twas the morning of Thanksgiving
I’m waiting for the time to eat.
I can’t wait to get stuffed
With turkey, stuffing, and pie…so good
Like love and laughs and family hugs
Drinking hot chocolate out of cute little mugs
Though it was Daffy, not Bugs
Pretending to be something he’s not
Lying to the world and lying to himself
And if they drip truth serum on his tongue, he’s afraid of what he’ll say
Afraid he’ll tell of all the things he’s ashamed of
