Prologue

November 10th

Bang.

The man slumped forward, a hole in the center of his forehead. A mixture of blood and brains splattered the wall behind him.

Perfect shot…that’s a bull’s-eye for sure!

The black marker streaked through the first name on the list. One down, a few thousand to go…

Let the games begin…

Author’s Notes:

The first thing I want to say about Kill Zone is that it is being written for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), where the goal is to produce a 50,000 word novel in thirty days. So, there has been no editing and some parts will be odd and the characters will seem strange in some parts.

So why am I posting this?

Easy—feedback. I love feedback (constructive crit is my favorite) and I think that feedback will help me when I get to the editing stage.

Kill Zone is the third in a series following Katherine Robertson (Katherine Winters in the first one, Coldest Degree). Kill Zone takes place after Fatal Target and five months after the ending of PASSIVE, a collaborative effort between My Brighter Darkness and myself. Prior knowledge of past events isn’t too crucial, since I put a lot of back story in the first few chapters and some chapters are straight-up back story. If something confuses you, please let me know and I will do my best to straight it out and answer your questions.
