I wish your eyes were blue

So that I could say they were chips of ice

I wish you never smiled

So that I could say that you are cold

I wish that you were cruel

So I could say you were unkind

I wish that you were ugly

So I could say you weren’t handsome

I wish that you were stupid

So I could say you weren’t smart

I wish I never saw you

And stood helpless as you grabbed a hold of my heart

I wish that I could hate you

So I could say I didn’t love you
