Chapter Nineteenth – ‘Forever’
Josh took me to his house, instead of mine – how could I show up at home without clothes but rather with a mystic protective vest full of blood, my hair in a mess and walking? What would be my excuse to all of that? So we went to his house, where I showered and put clean clothes on, fixed my hair and did my makeup. At least I would look decent when my mother threatened to put me out of the house if I ever made her worry as much as during the previous night.
Then Josh drove me, in his shinny car, which looked so common after all that we had been through. On the short ten minutes that distanced our houses, I thought about all the questions I had to ask him, and all the answers I looked for and I knew he would not be able to give me.
‘I have so many questions…’ I whispered, when we got to my block.
‘Do I have the answers?’ he asked me, his hand on mine, on my seat.
‘I don’t know…’ I took a deep breath. ‘Why did I dream about what happened tonight, so long ago?’
He did not look at me, but I knew he hand an answer for me.
‘It has something to do with being a vampire, I guess’ he resumed.
‘So everyone has these dreams?’
‘Not these…’ Josh told me, sighing. ‘Every vampire has, once in their life, a dream about something that will change their life.’
We pulled up on my drive way – the porch light was on, once again.
‘Did you have a dream like that?’ I asked, really interested.
He did not answer, but I could bet he would have blushed if he could.
‘Lets talk with your mother…’ he said, opening the door. ‘Other questions can wait… Now we have to deal with this.’
I sighed and followed him, fearing my mother’s reaction. It was the third time in a mouth that I had made her worry about me. I could imagine her face, before she opened the door. I could imagine what she would say before I even heard her footsteps. But Josh squeezed my hand softly.
‘Don’t worry. I am here’ he whispered, when my mother got to the lower floor.
I sighed and looked at him.
My mother opened the door.
‘Forever’ he whispered, kissing my forehead.
N/A: In case you haven’t noticed, this is the end. Le finale! Ok, whatever, I know. Just let me know what you think about it… I know it’s not perfect, that’s why it’s a scratch. I just want to know if it is good enough to even take a second look at it. Thanks kiddos ; )
