Ralph lost at sea
By: Jeffery.William
Chapter 1: Ralph S. Mouse
Hello. My name is Ralph S. Mouse. The S stands for Smart. I am currently in a can. I am in the sea. The can is my home, ship, bed and last chance of survival. The sea that I am in is the Caribbean Sea. I am looking for land so that I will not be stuck in the sea forever.
I am in this can which reeks of rotten tomatoes. I have a sunroof so that I can check if there is any land ahead. My can is like a ship, but instead of engines, I use oars (toothpicks). It may take some getting used to, but I enjoy it. Well, I better get back to rowing.
I have been rowing for hours and I have not made much progress. Wait, I see a bottle! I must row to get it. Phew! I made it. Now to search the bottle. Inside I find a glowing marble. I take it out and place it in my ship. I look at the marble, but get an eerie feeling about it.
Chapter 2: The Marble
I forgot to mention that I have a minilibrary with around 10 books. I decided to do some research on the marble. After researching my marble, I realize it is a ‘Time Twister’, which can take you through time if you stare at it long enough. Better not look at it then! Now back to rowing, have taken enough time off. I rowed while deep in thought about the ‘Time Twister’, thoughts like, ‘why was it in a bottle? Why did it come to me?’ just as I come back from my thoughts, I realize I am going to crash into a rock! Oh well, my mom told me not to daydream – so I guess I was asking for it.
Chapter 3: Canwrecked
My can has crashed into a rock, so I am now officially ‘canwrecked’. Well this means I am going to have to deal with it sensibly and responsibly. I must figure out a way to get food because getting water is no problem. Maybe I could ask a local bird. I have a bird-language guide which shows how to speak fluent Bird.
I can see a seagull! I will ask him to bring me crumbs of food 3 times a day since I have been practicing my Bird language.
Me: Ka, Ka, Ka, Ka, Dugi, Dugi, Squak (Please get me crumbs of food each day!)
Seagull: Purchia, Gabindo (What’s in it for me?)
Me: Ka, Ka, Camerinthum Gabindo Purchia (I will use a toothpick to fish a bit for you because I hate fish)
Seagull: Okay (Okay)
Gah! That was hard. Seagulls drive a hard bargain. I vow to never speak bird again. Since he gave me such a hard time I won’t give him his fish.
Chapter 4: Through Time
I wish I could look at the ‘Time Twister’, even a peek would satisfy me. But as the saying goes, “temptation was made to resist”. So I began to row again but the temptation became irresistible and before I knew it, I was staring at the ‘Time Twister’. Inside the marble, there were moving cities full of infamous people. Wow, what a treasure!
Well, that is enough time wasted, I said to myself as I tried to look away, but I found my gaze fixated on the eerie marble. Then a voice inside my head said “ common you can’t continue to look or else you might get warped through time!!” That was enough to make me look away from the creepy marble. Then I swore on my dead mother’s grave that I would never look at the marble again.
SIX MINUTES LATER….
You know how I said temptation was made to resist? Yeah well I couldn’t resist... but I put it away as soon as I glanced at it for about 5 minutes. the other minute I spent destroying my mother’s grave. So I really never broke any vow. Suddenly the seagull I promised fish to came down and ate me whole. From inside his body I could hear him say ( in bird language) “ you did owe me something so I took your life! Then I felt a sudden lurch and realized that this peanut sized brain of his couldn’t resist the marble and looked but never looked away, but that’s another tale for another time. Be sure to read Ralph stuck in time to find out what happens next!!
