Month of May

Remember when we used to play
under the blanket on the month of May?
Remember when we sang the songs
with happy smiles and broken gongs?

Remember when we talked about our dreams?
Yeah, we'll swim in ice cream of cookies and cream.
Remember when you saw me cry?
You hugged me tight, and wiped them dry.

Remember when traded vows?
We did it right infront of your house.
Remember when we locked the doors?
Just so we could play dolls on the floor.

Remember when you promised to wait?
We arrived at dinner, it was 5minutes to eight.
Remember the last words you said?
I never expected to see you in bed.
In the white blanket you now lay
this first week on the month of May.
