Winter Time Lovin'
Alaina sat on the swing with her feet dragging through the snow. Her hair, a deep auburn, hidden underneath a snow cap and her bright gray eyes shining brightly. Taking in the breathtaking beauty of the snow on the playground, she watched as everything was still and no children running around like munchkins. Her black snow boots scuffed against the ground as she slowed down until she heard footsteps ahead of her crunching the snow. Looking up, her eyes came to meet the deep blue of one of her best friends. Tyson. His deep black hair was covered by a blue hat and his usually skinny form was huddled under a snow jacket.
"What are you doing here?" Alaina asked with a bright smile splashing her face. Her cheeks were slightly pink from the wind and cold wrapped around her.
"I stopped at your house to wish you a happy birthday only to find you weren't there. Your mom then told me you were here." He grinned down at her.
"Well you found me…" She laughed.
"What are you doing out here? Aren't you cold?" He asked, taking a seat on the other swing.
"Wanted to escape the house." She replied.
"Why not go on a drive, go someplace?" He offered, slightly kicking off to swing. She laughed.
"I am someplace, goof. I wanted to be here. I wanted to swing in the snow."
"Oh really?"
"Yup."
"Well get off your swing so I can give you a birthday hug." He laughed, stepping in front of her.
"I get a hug?!" She teased but stood up and walked closer into his arms. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her.
"Happy Birthday, Alli." He whispered. She nodded.
"Thank you." They stood like that for a moment before he looked down at her,
"What do you want for your birthday?"
"Um… It's something that may seem silly but I want my first kiss to be here. Not right now or anything but this is where I want it to be, around this time. Everyone has their first kiss in the summer or spring, heck even fall, but I never heard of anyone getting their first kiss in the snow. Plus, I just want to be a weirdo like that." She grinned up at him and saw the elegant smile gracing his face.
"You are a weirdo, I will gladly tell you that." He laughed.
"But only yours." She teased, an inside joke that happened months ago. She stopped for a moment so she could look up into his eyes. "Will you be my first kiss, Ty?"
"Why me? Wouldn't you want it to be someone you care about?" Tyson seemed taken aback by what was asked. She shook her head.
"I do care about you. Plus I know I won't end up hating you. You're my best friend. You make me laugh when I don’t' even want to smile. You understand things about me that no one else could. I can talk to you about anything or everything. When I'm depressed or angry, you calm me down and make me smile once again. I just want you to be my first kiss. It won't have to mean anything to you, I just…" She trailed off, lowering her head, slightly abashed at her courage. "You know what, I'm just blabbering here. Don’t' worry about it. Let's get home." She laughed and stepped back only to be pulled back into his arms.
"You're crazy, you know that?" He grinned down at her.
"That I am." She replied, slightly breathlessly. He smiled but soon stopped. Leaning down, he brushed his lips against hers, ever so slightly. She closed her eyes and caught her breath. He smiled before putting a little more pressure. She brought her hand up to his face to have him flinch slightly. She backed up immediately and started apologizing until he cut her off with a quick kiss.
"Would you stop talking? Your hands are freezing." He laughed. She looked up at him and grinned.
"Well I will just put them in your pockets then."
"I can deal with that. Now come over here." He grabbed her again. "My lips are cold."
"Well that's too bad."
"Just be glad I happen to like you, Alaina, or I would be ordered to make you pay for that."
"And just how do you plan to do that?" She whispered, breathlessly.
"You'll see." And he brought his head down closer, letting their breaths to combine in the air.
