GRATITUDE

I ought to extend
my deepest gratification
to all those who helped
my life from start to finish

and yet I ought
to keep living,
for the finish
has barely begun

The beginning has barely begun,
the end has barely ended.
Feelings fresh,
sights sought.

Life lived
but never loved,
never held,
never come

to the land of
possibility.
The land of
reality.

So thank you,
all those who never let me live,
who never helped this life,
but helped me.
