Dead-Head

I am the gray horse; I follow the black horse.

Don’t try to move me; I stay straight in line.

I am the gray horse; I follow the black horse.

There is no great wonder or glory divine.

Your ankles may steer me, but the path is clear to me.

I follow the tail of one who’s before.

For I am the gray horse who follows the black horse,

Such is my burden; Such is my chore.
