Two o’clock in the morning

Is rather the same as two in the afternoon

Blank wall

Blank expression

Nothing but space, and air

And waiting

Two days ago I was on a train to New York

Two more days and I’ll be on my way back

Reveling in the awkwardness of strangers

The old woman with no place to sit

As the businessman hangs a heavy head

Today I’m gonna sleep

Four hours, eight

Wake up in the early morning

And realize nothing’s changed.
