Cradle Song

Lulai, lully

O sleep, my child

The daylight now is done

Lulai, lulie

O dream, my dear

Till night time will be gone

I sing you this, so fear you not

Though thunder’s roaming loud

Lightning stroke and swords may cut

As war its way has found

Lulai, lully, oh sleep, my child

And dream of times passed by

Your father fights now for our Isle

I sing you lullaby

Lulai, lully

O sleep, my child

The daylight now is done

Lulai, lulie

O dream, my dear

Till night time will be gone

I rock your cradle, rain falls down

The night is dark this time

As war is stretched across this ground

And strong is foeman’s line

Lulai, lulie, oh sleep, my dear

And dream of times passed by

This night is silent, do not fear

I sing you lullaby

Lulai, lully

O sleep, my child

The daylight now is done

Lulai, lulie

O dream, my dear

Till night time will be gone
