Night and Day

Night prowls in as a jaguar.

Black-as-coal fur,

And eyes, teeth, and claws gleaming, sparkling

With murderous intent

The night stalks on, trailing its prey,

The golden maned lion of the Day.

His tail always flickering to and fro

Just out of reach of the jaguar.

As Day rises with his golden mane rays

He catches on last glimpse of Night,

As he disappears again.

The Day lets loose a mighty roar,

And with teeth and claws sharpened for battle,

Chases after the stealthy jaguar;

Whose tail is always flickering to and fro,

Just out of reach of the lion.
