Failing Friendship

There once was a girl,
She was shy and withdrawn.
Along came another,
She was outgoing and strong.

The strong one was Fetz,
The shy one Teeks.
Together there wasn’t one thing,
That they couldn’t defeat.

Unexpectedly one day,
Both girls collided.
Their personalities clashed,
And they were divided.

That whole summer,
They did nothing but fight.
They ate away at their friendship,
Bite after bite.

Both girls knew,
Nothing would be the same.
They also realized,
They both were to blame.

They went on with their lives,
Not seeing each other,
Until that one day,
Teeks blew the cover.

They got together,
And sat on her bed.
They spent all night talking,
And tears were shed.

Things were good,
For a while.
Neither of them,
Had to force a smile.

The summer was better,
Than either could have imagined.
But the school year started,
And things were abandoned…
