Chapter 5: Many Funerals

Daisy walked through the rubble and debris of what was at one time her precious hometown. Everything was ruined-- her house, her friends, and undoudbtedly her life-- she wondered wherer or not to consider herself fortunate for having survived the Merleons' attack.
They had seen it coming; there were prophecies and such, and the writings on the wall of the ancients' caves-- though they were the only way they knew what Merleons were-- depicted a great flood.
Daisy shook her head. Not a flood. No one could have such power. Yet everyone was convinced that the supposedly magic-powred Merleons summoned a massive flood upon them.
Daisy knew what it was. It was a wave and, Merleons or none, it wasn't magic.
But now, everyone she knew was now a lifeless, washed up body lying somewhere; anywhere, she noticed, and everywhere.
We will lie here; here we lay
She tried to stay strong. Her face, trembling despite her attempts, showed little to no courage
Young and agile, seaside born
She couldn't remember how she had survived. All she saw was the ocean standing up, and then she was out cold. But she woke up, her wings drenchedm everyone around her dead.
Their little clifftop city was gone. The street she had grown up on; her neighbours and friends...
My parents' death did I dear mourn
Everything she knew. Gone.
Now she looked over the edge of the cliff, only a few yards high, and saw something that provoked her anger and need for revenge.
Now in this wicked world risk I
She tried to spread her wings, but they were far too wet for flight, And so she ran like she'd never run before.
Bold endeavours by and by
for what saw on the sandy beach below was nothing less than what the carvings in the ancient caves predicted:

She cried as she ran. This Catowl would have her revenge.
