Before The Dawn
Prologue
“We live in a world where there's good and evil. Evil walks among us as creatures and shadows to make harm and brings danger to everyone. They creep in the shadows at night taking innocent victims and bring death to our families. No one is safe no matter how much they pray. My father, Death, has fought these creatures for thousands of years to keep the world as safe as he can keep it. These creatures take on many forms so it can be difficult to distinguish them for afar. No one knows exactly where they come from and it’s my destiny to know and close it forever. Many of these creatures are legends and stories that adults tell children, it’s to make them aware but as we grow older, we don’t believe in these stories anymore which make it easier for them to trap us. These monsters are hideous and dangerous and can’t be let down by a normal human being if they get lucky to survive long enough to see them. I am the daughter of the Grim Reaper; I have to carry on what my father started. You will know that I’m only half human,” She said.
“What’s your other half?”
“Demon/Death, I carry the blood of my father,”
“I understand now,”
“Now, I can’t let you free, you saw me, you know who I am, I’m not keeping you prisoner, and I am making you my...” she paused.
“Friend?” he finished for her.
“Yes, but I just want to warn you, don’t get in my way; I work alone.” She said and stood up and walked away leaving him in awe. She couldn’t let him get away with the fact that he knew her secret, now, she had to protect him and kill monsters. Beautiful, as my life couldn’t get any more complicated, she thought. She heard footsteps behind her.
“Hey wait up! I haven’t even gotten your name!” He yelled out. She sighed and slowed down.
“Danielle, Danielle Reaper.” She said.
“Anthony, Anthony Night.” He said.
